Hmmm.... I'm working at the writing center at the moment. Correction. I'm not working at the writing center at the moment. Just got done teaching The Heart of Darkness. I actually had a student say that "Apocalypse Now" is a better version of the story than the book! Thank god we could at least agree that "Redux" was the worst of the three.
In discussion we talked about what the "heart of darkness" actually was. And since I couldn't come up with a subject heading for the email containing the question, I just labeled it "the horror? the horror?" Isn't it neat how anything, no matter how serious, becomes funny once you place a question mark behind it and say it twice? Take "pedophilia" for example:
Pedophilia? Pedophilia?
I think its because you have to pronounce it slowly the second time around. Pe-do-phil-i-a?

What is functuation, Kevin?
Fun with punctuation.
when you say it that way (the second way) it seems like you are talking about biking
You know you're right. And now you've got me thinking that a pedometer might be used to count something other than steps.
I immediately heard Ben Stein saying it - "Pedophilia? Pedophilia?"
